Reverse the lower rate of financial support for parents under 25

Universal Credit should pay the same rate of personal allowance to single parents under 25 as single parents over 25, as Income Support does.

Why is this important?

Single Parents under 25 will be entitled to £15 a week less under Universal Credit. However, there is no reason why young families should receive less money. Food, nappies, clothes etc cost the same, regardless of age of the parent. Paying young families less is age discrimination and will push more families into poverty.
