SAVE LONGRIDGE GREENBELT

We call upon Cheshire East Councillors to reverse CEC’s flawed decision to remove "Site CS50 Land South of Longridge” from the Green Belt, for the development of a 225 house estate. As:-
* Ill-judged.
* Driven by CEC’s development goals to the exclusion of all other considerations.
* Engaged in unethical conduct to secure its objective

Why is this important?

* CEC sought the development of Site `CS50` in full knowledge it was landlocked and protected by a Mcr City Council Covenant debarring future development!
* Willfully disregarded Site CS50’s unique ecology and civic amenity role, evolved over 50yrs of natural re-wilding and public access to classify Site CS50 as “Low Grade Scrubland suitable for development.” (#1.)
* Unethically hid existence of the Mcr City Cncl Covenant from Govt Inspectors to secure approval.(#2)
*Three months after securing approval CEC proposed adjacent P.O.S.(#3) Playing Fields be made available to the Developer for the Access Roads & Utilities and thereby EVADE THE COVENANT!

(#1.) CS50 is 4 acres of former pasture, ancient hedgerows & woods, left fallow for 60yrs and `re-wilded`! Now home to 100’s of species of flora & fauna, birds & insects, part of a 3Km `Wildlife Corridor` from Boothsmere to Tatton Park.
(#2.) As verified by E.Mcvay MP! (#3) Public Open Space.
