Save Meadow Parade Doctor's Surgery

To guarantee the continuing presence of a doctors surgery at Meadow Parade after the planned spring review.
To restore surgery hours to two surgeries per day.
To continue to provide a full service for local people.

Why is this important?

Local doctor's surgeries are being closed at an alarming rate. This has happened at short notice, and with no consultation with patients. This denies us access to a local surgery. Meadow Parade surgery will only be open in mornings from now on, with a review in spring which may lead to it closing altogether, leaving NO doctors surgery in Rottingdean. The nearest will be in Saltdean, which is difficult and inconvenient for local people, especially the elderly and infirm, to get to.

During the petition handover Lloyd Russell Moyle MP sent his press release.
"I have met with the Doctors of the Rottingdean & Saltdean Medical Practice, and been in communication with the local CCG, and it is my hope that the current arrangement can be extended. There is a genuine GP shortage problem facing us on a national level, but it is my hope that the CCG will confirm their intentions to maintain a GP presence in both Rottingdean & Saltdean going forward."
We hope he will be more involved going forward.

What a fantastic response. We will have reached the target of 1000 signatures by the end of the week, but please keep them coming. On Friday 8th Dec I will be presenting the petition to Lloyd Russell Moyle our local MP and discussing with him how we can proceed with the campaign to prevent the surgery from closing. Many thanks for showing your support and solidarity in fighting to preserve what we have all paid for through our taxes.

Great that we have now gathered over 800 signatures in just over a week.
Also good news in that I have heard from LLoyd Russell-Moyle our local MP who has pledged his support.I know he was active in fighting the closure of The Ridgeway surgery in Woodingdean. He made it clear a plan must be put in place to prevent further surgery closures as well as to encourage the opening of new ones.
