Save Oaken Wood

Save Oaken Wood
Stop plans to use Oaken Wood - an ancient woodland and site of special scientific interest - for quarrying.

Why is this important?

Oaken Wood, an ancient woodland in Kent, is under threat. Gallagher's and Kent County Council want to turn it into a quarry. Yet this is the home of protected species, such as dormice and various fungis. Trees aged over 100 years old would need to be vanquished to acquire ragstone for so-called building and road making purposes.
