Save our playscheme
For years, my children and many others in New Broughton and Brynteg have found joy, companionship, and personal growth through our local play scheme. This invaluable program has helped them forge friendships, build confidence, and support their mental health and well-being. However, it now faces threat of closure due to impending budget cuts.
It is more than just a play scheme; it is a cornerstone of our community. It serves as a safe haven where children from various backgrounds come together, learn, and grow in an environment that champions diversity and inclusion. The play scheme provides essential recreational activities, which are crucial for the holistic development of children. Furthermore, it offers working parents peace of mind, knowing their children are engaged in meaningful and supervised activities.
Budget cuts should not jeopardize the future of our children. We urge the local council to reconsider this decision and explore alternative solutions. Could we look at reallocating funds from less critical areas or explore community fundraising initiatives? These measures could preserve an essential community asset that countless families depend on.

Why is this important?
Preserving the play scheme is an investment in our children's future. We need to prioritise funding that fosters community strength and youth development. It is not just an expenditure but a vital service that enriches our society.
Please sign this petition to call on our local authorities to save our beloved play scheme, ensuring it can thrive for generations to come. Together, we can make a difference and secure a vibrant future for our children and our community.
