Save Our St. Mary’s
St. Mary’s Church should be saved from closure and retained as a Church of Scotland place of worship and to serve the community.
Why is this important?
St Mary’s Church, built by local people, to serve as the ‘mother church’ of Kirkintilloch, has stood, majestically, at the very heart of the town, for over a century.
Worshippers have shared their time, talents and resources in this fine building for the greater glory of God. St Mary’s has been a place where life’s highest and lowest moments have been marked by many thousands over the years, both within the Parish and beyond.

St Mary’s beautiful building has always warmly welcomed worshippers to services and wider audiences for performances and events. Incorporating superbly crafted furniture and artworks, St Mary’s is also notable for its remarkable collection of stained and painted glass windows, gifted to the building and admired as among the most significant in any Scottish church.
Now the Church of Scotland has decided to close St Mary’s and to sell the building off.
If you want to help save St Mary’s for its congregation and for future generations in Kirkintilloch, please sign this petition. Please also guide others to sign this petition and encourage as many of your family and friends as you can to sign up.
Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you.
How it will be delivered
This petition will be delivered to the Trustees of the Church of Scotland in Edinburgh.
