Save Park Ave! Say NO to Southall Sidings and Over development in Southall

Park Ave is one of Southall's most busy and famous roads, traditionally holding a little over 300 homes, which range from 1 to 2 storeys. However due to the crossrail, TFL and Grainger PLC are proposing six towers ranging from 11- 16 storeys in a very small plot called Southall Sidings, which will house 460 flats, with no social housing. The development area is currently neighbouring to the Park Ave Gurdwara and rented by TFL to a local business.

Why is this important?

SOUTHALL NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Southall is a town that represents the most marginalised groups in society, we are a town that has gone unheard for too long , we consist of a population of immigrants, refugees and working class families.

We are a town that sees very low levels of political engagement which results in planning proposals and major changes happening in Southall with little input being heard from locals. This petition and my organisation JUSTICE4SOUTHALL aims to help the locals suffering from political suppression due to lack of education and language barriers around political processes.

Just some facts found in Ealing Council Reports:
- In 2010 it was found that 15% of Southall's population's first language is not English.
- Southall is a town with one of the most ethnically diverse populations, but has also consistently been found to be one of the most deprived areas in Ealing in relation to multiple factors such as crime and education.
- Most importantly Southall is the MOST DENSELY POPULATED in the borough of Ealing, but is currently the most targeted area in the borough in terms of proposed and ongoing development, with little supporting infrastructure being proposed.

The reality is since the introduction of the Crossrail, Southall has seen an unprecedented level of over-development, although the Mayor of London in their crossrail regeneration plans projected the introduction of 6000 homes over 20 years in conjunction with the crossrail . In the last 2 years we have seen nearly 10,000 homes being built or in the process of being built in Southall!

PLEASE HELP US , SIGN THIS PETITION TO SHOW YOUR OBJECTION AND GIVE THE PEOPLE OF SOUTHALL THE VOICE THEY DESERVE.

Thank you
