Save Prince phillip A&E
Dear Hywel Dda,
Please do not close down the A&E department in Prince Phillip hospital in Llanelli. It is sorely needed. Llanelli is the largest town in Carmarthenshire, with a population to match. Closing it will add pressure to surrounding Hospitals and put lives in danger!

Why is this important?
It is sorely needed. Llanelli is the largest town in Carmarthenshire, with a population to match. Closing it will add pressure to surrounding Hospitals and put lives in danger! It will also add pressure to Ambulance services and have a knock on effect.
It was reported today that there were ambulances waiting outside Morriston and that a A&E consultant spent most of his eight hour shift treating patients in ambulances there.
We have been told that Llanelli patients can use Morriston A&E but we cant as they have already said they cannot manage patients from Llanelli and have stated this publicly in the press.
As a Health Board you have a Duty Of Care under Common Law to the patients under your care and by downgrading PPH you are not meeting these requirements.
