Save QEQM Stroke Service

Save QEQM Stroke Service

There is real risk to life if those having a stroke and stroke patients have to travel from Thanet to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

Why is this important?

These vital life saving services should be provided at QEQM in Margate. Anyone having a stroke needs to act FAST and get to a hospital for treatment as quickly as possible. Ashford is simply too far away. Thanet already has some of the worst stroke outcomes. Life saving stroke treatment should not be cut due to reducing funding in our NHS.

Thanet District

Reasons for signing

  • I'm highly concerned that stroke patients from Thanet will need to be funnelled through A & E at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford. According to the CQC, A & E at the William Harvey Hospital requires improvement. On the local BBC news last night (12th April) it was insinuated that waiting times for patients to be seen in A & E at the William Harvey Hospital are some of the longest in the country.
  • Because politicians are totally out of touch with real life so they need to be held to account. Instead of wasting our money on vanity projects like HS2 and Foreign aid and their expenses, they should start listening to what we want them to do and do it!!!
  • Ashford or Canterbury is too far away - QEQM is nearer
