Who Are We?
We are an established world renowned Black music independent label founded in 1996. We have been operating our business from our Helmsley Place location since 2016 aswell as using the space as a shop and event space.
What's The Issue?
Post pandemic, a new residential building sprung up across the building from our place of work - which is situated in a largely commercial, industrial street.
Over the last year, there appears to have been orchestrated noise complaints against these various businesses including our own.
We feel we have tried to hear some of the valid complaints and as such, we have worked with Hackney Council to implement noise limiters and acoustic curtains as an example, but there doesn't appear to be any compromise from what appears to be a specific set of residential neighbours continuing to complain.
As a result, we have now received a Notice of application to review our licence on the grounds of 'Prevention of crime and disorder' and 'Prevention of public nuisance'.
