Save the Mardyke Horses

Following the rapid growth of this petition (8,000 is 3 days!) Thurrock council immediately removed the horses from the Mardyke Meadows flood plains. They have also promised never to let them graze there in the winter months again. A big thank you to everyone who supported this campaign.

To arrange for the horses at the Mardyke Meadows flood plains to be moved to safety as a matter of urgency

Why is this important?

This area of land has been underwater for two months now
Horses have died in the past on this land and others have had to be dragged out of the mud in conditions less wet than at present
These animals are at risk and need protection
