Say No to AI at an Arts Festival
An arts festival in Cornwall has been using AI generated images on it's social media pages.
This petition is asking them to please remove any AI generated imagery used in promotion of the festival.
⭐ Please STILL VISIT the festival and support the very talented artists involved. The decision to use AI is the organisers decision, and does not reflect at all on attendees or performers. They still deserve to be seen and it will be a lovely weekend! ⭐
Why is this important?

I know as creatives we are concerned about the future of our industry due to the enforced takeover of AI and the impact it will have on our careers.
So when I came across the Morvala arts festival I was shocked to find they have been using AI generated images in several posts, as seen in the link below.

Seeing more and more AI generated imagery out in the wild is one thing, but seeing it from an Arts festival?
What a kick in the teeth.

So I decided to comment on a post I suspected was AI generated, asking who the illustrator might be?
Over a several days a handful of people also commented on the posts asking if some images were AI generated.
Those comments were all swiftly deleted.
My next step was to email them asking them to confirm or deny the use of AI, and to explain my disappointment.
This was their reply:
"Whilst I respect your right to hold concerns about AI or wider developments within the creative industries, Morvala is under no obligation to justify its creative decisions or internal processes to individuals online."

The reaction to the festival organisers baffling choice to use AI imagery has been one of shock and disbelief.
AI images are made from illegally stealing from artists.
Their use of AI signals to the rest of the world that it's ok to use it. This petition is here to say it's not and it has to stop.
If even people promoting an Arts festival can't respect their own industry how can we expect it from anyone else. It's an endorsement of bad behaviour.
Is this the kind of future we want?
I'm here to say AI is NOT inevitable huns, and if we don't do something before it takes hold we are signing our own death warrant as creatives.
I am asking that we join together to tell the owners of Morvala festival that their use of AI generated images is NOT ON and to ask for the AI images to be removed.
