SAY NO TO PYLONS - 90km Nottinghamshire, North Lincolnshire, East Yorkshire
The National Grid’s proposal for a new electricity transmission line of 50 metre high pylons, stretching overland 90km from the North of Hull near Creyke to High Marnham, Nottinghamshire must be shelved!!
Their presence will undoubtedly have significant impact on the landscape, environment, value of properties and serious health implications.
National Grid has only presented one option, other options like cables being rerouted underground, updating the existing pylons that are already in place or options for an offshore grid - this all needs to be assessed and presented for consultation.
Protect our precious, historic landscape if given the go ahead it would change our landscape forever.

Why is this important?
This petition is relevant to all rural communities who face having their landscape and homes desecrated by pylons.
We oppose the National Grid’s proposal due to the impact on -
Health - there is growing evidence of adverse effects of electro-magnetic fields (EMFs)
The landscape - this will effect our local views and adversely affect tourism to the area
Property prices - with these plans in place our properties are already effected
Farming - figures show that at least one agricultural accident involving overhead lines is reported every day resulting in injury or death
