Say NO to the Stafford Town Regeneration

The people of Stafford town centre and the surrounding areas, do not want a regeneration of the town centre and the market square. It wasn't too long ago that the market square area was pedestrianised. In addition, the current draft of their plans lead us to believe that it won't look much different to how it is now. How about a focus on the current business owners and prospective business owners by the lowering of rents, rates etc. Given almost 2 years of the pandemic situation, focus should be placed on those that have been loyal to the town centre and its market (which also, noone wants regenerating as it is currently barely used/ocupied) again, due to high rents, rates and fees etc.

£21million could be better invested in the town or community on such things as permanent highway/pot-hole repairs

Why is this important?

Absolutely noone wants public funds wasting on this project. This would be a similar waste of money, like that wasted on concrete balls outside the council buildings
