Say Yes to school age changes in Redditch

We, the undersigned, urge the Rt.Hon. Nicky Morgan to accept the age change business plan put forward by Tudor Grange Academy, Redditch, which will enable it to become a secondary school starting at year 7. This will facilitate the pyramid to change to a two tier system and bring it into line with the prevalent education system in the UK.

Why is this important?

It has been proven that primary schools (to the end of key stage 2 at year 6) are considered the best opportunity for children to access good quality education with the benefit of continuity. Transferring at year 7 gives more time for them to make informed choices for exams in year 11. The change will also drive continuous and sustained improvement of our education system, benefiting all our children.

We trust the vision and leadership of our governing bodies and senior management teams to affect the change with minimal disruption and to deliver the best possible education for our children now,  and in the future.
