  • Ban plastic around flowers
I want UK government to make plastic around bouquets or bunches of flowers to be an optional extra not a routine addition. They should be charged like plastic bags.

  • Make Taxis in Warrington Carry Portable AEDs (automatic defibrillators)
Issue taxis with fully-automatic, portable AEDs (automatic electronic defibrillators) in order to give people who've had a cardiac arrest a greater chance of survival. Taxis have already been issued with RAPAID bandages to help people who have been stabbed. I think AEDs are equally important. Those same taxis should carry portable AEDs. It's already happened in Glasgow (to a select number of) taxis, but this needs to happen across England too. Just by having select taxis carry them, it'll massively help in saving lives. I believe that, beginning with Warrington, it can spread across England so that taxis across the country may carry them one-day. Having lost someone close to me, which was made much worse due to a delay in the arrival of paramedics, I think having more defibrillators around will save lives. Having them in taxis will drastically increase the survival rate of someone in cardiac arrest, as there will be far more defibrillators able to be utilised by the public when on the street. "A defibrillator should be possible to fetch within 4 minutes (2 minutes there and 2 back). [...] That means the defibrillator should be 200 metres from where it's needed [as this is the average distance a person travels in 2 minutes]" (British Heart Foundation 2023). Using AEDs does not require first aid training, which makes them very effective.

  • Protect National Landscapes (Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty)
Local authorities are under pressure from the Government to allocate land for house building. This means that our Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (now renamed National Landscapes to indicate their national importance) are being allocated for mass housebuilding. Local councils must 'protect and enhance' their National Landscapes. We call on Steve Reed to prevent the building of large housing estates and industrial buildings on our precious, irreplaceable National Landscapes.

  • Stop The Closure And Return Bridge Park To Community Ownership And Control
Brent Council must immediately stop the planned closure of Bridge Park. They must transfer full ownership and governance of the site to the local community, led by the founders and custodians, the Harlesden People's Community Council (HPCC), through a transparent, lawful, and binding agreement that safeguards Bridge Park for future generations.

  • End the postcode lottery restricting disabled bus travel
We, the undersigned, are calling on the Government to remove restrictions on the disabled  bus pass which affect more than half a million people. These restrictions, which apply in some areas but not others, make it harder and more costly for disabled people to get to work and access healthcare and education opportunities. This is a deeply unfair barrier for many disabled people, who are already economically disadvantaged. We are calling on the government to end this postcode lottery by expanding the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme to help disabled people by: 1. Ensuring 24/7 validity for the disabled person’s bus pass in the whole of England, removing the current restriction that limits free travel in many areas to between 09:30 and 23:00. 2. Providing free travel for a companion of a disabled person if that person cannot travel alone by bus.

  • Support a UK-Centric Clean Energy Strategy That Creates Jobs and Protects Industrial Sovereignty
The UK Government must reshape its clean energy and net zero strategy to prioritise domestic industry, workforce development, and energy independence. This includes: • Giving UK-based firms priority in clean energy contracts • Investing in domestic manufacturing and materials processing • Reforming procurement laws to favour local economic benefit • Creating regional innovation hubs to retrain workers and develop strategic industries • Reducing reliance on foreign-owned energy assets and imported materials Clean energy made in Britain should be more than a slogan — it must be a national strategy.

  • Ban smartphones from all schools
Flag up negatives of allowing smartphones in all schools as shown in TV programmes, and improvements in schools where they've already been banned. Head teachers usually have parental support but need government to back this too

  • Stop the restructure at Drumbeat Outreach!
A restructure is underway at Drumbeat Outreach. Parents, carers and allies are raising their voices to reject these planned changes. We believe they are going ahead on the basis of short-sighted, misguided and badly-informed decisions: they do not have our support. We urge Drumbeat School, Lewisham Council and the Mayor of Lewisham to listen. If the restructure goes ahead it will: ·       Undermine the one service that is uniquely trusted by schools, families and children and young people and achieves transformative results. ·       Cut provision in nurseries, negatively impacting the early identification of our children’s needs and timely intervention to support them. ·       Reduce capacity to provide the most valued spaces where parents meet to learn evidence-based approaches from highly-experienced professionals and gain solidarity among each other. ·       Lose crucial expertise and capacity in a team that is well-known to be preventing the escalation of cases (eg to CAMHS, Alternative Provision) on a daily basis. ·       Witness more autistic children, young people and their families reaching crisis point, because of the scaling back of needs-led intervention. ·       Single out Drumbeat Outreach to be removed from multi-disciplinary SEN panels, despite its unique ability to advise on appropriate support for autistic pupils. ·       Raise expectations of support (eg for children with EOTAS or EHE) that practically cannot be delivered. ·       Put unreasonable demands on a small team already punching above its weight to deliver crucial services with fewer staff and less time.

  • Equality for older carers
I know of people who had carers allowance because they provided care for a disabled or ill person often a relative, but as soon as they became retired age the care continues the care allowance stops. Please consider letting those who did or do provide care with carers allowance to continue being paid the carers allowance when they still provide the same or more care.

  • Do Not Remove The Right Of Trial By Jury
✊ Don’t Axe Our Right to Jury Trial The government wants to scrap jury trials for thousands of cases — replacing them with judge-only courts. That means: 🚫 No public scrutiny 🚫 No community voice 🚫 Easier convictions This is a blatant rollback of justice. Jury trial is a right — not a luxury. 🛑 Sign to stop this power grab.
