Sheffield City Council must tell the truth about climate chaos.
Sheffield City Council has so far failed to tell the truth about the climate and ecological emergencies we are facing. We demand that SCC tell the truth to all Sheffield residents, through imaginative and visionary campaigns, including the use of the 2020 Council Tax letter. These communication campaigns need to explain clearly how urgent these emergencies are for the people of Sheffield, what the Council and citizens can do and the serious risks and costs if there is further delay in cutting carbon emissions.
Why is this important?
Sheffield City Council declared a climate emergency in February 2019. Unfortunately, it has not acted as if it is an emergency and has failed to inform the citizens of Sheffield about the extremely serious threat we face.
