STANDING CHARGES
The cost of standing charges for gas and electric is a national disgrace, especially for lower-use customers like myself. This time of the year, when you do not put the lights on so much or use the central heating so much, my monthly bills are a lot lower, but many times recently, my monthly standing charges are higher for the electric and gas that I used. How is that allowed to happen? That is both shocking and a disgrace from all the energy suppliers. They are just ripping off their loyal customers every month.
Something needs to be done urgently. I feel very sorry for those on lower wages and the infirm and the elderly. All the energy companies should be taken to task and made to lower and change their standing charges. They are making a fortune as it is.
All people should be given a voice. Sign a petition and get the government to force the energy companies to lower standing charges.
Stop the greed from all the energy companies. They have been getting away with it for too long!!!
Why is this important?
It is an ongoing disgrace and action needs to be taken urgently! People are struggling as it is, with all the other bills they have to pay every month. The energy companies probably take the most.
Many parents and elderly, as well as the infirm across the country, have to decide every day. Do I have enough money to put the heating on for an hour or two, or decide if I can afford to put food on the table? To decide to eat or heat in this country in this day and age is nothing more than a disgrace!
We have just had fourteen years of heartache and depression. We all need some help, some more than others especially now! Hopefully, we can get now under the new Labour government!!!
