Stop data collection of school children's nationality and place of birth.
Stop collecting data regarding pupil's nationality and place of birth.
Why is this important?
In the wake of the EU referendum result there has been a massive rise in hate crimes and incidents. Young people ss well as adults have been subject to low level abuse such as colleagues and classmates asking them "when are you going home?" to physical assaults.
The DfE have instructed schools to collect this data and schools are sending letters home to parents demanding it with little or no explanation as to why it is required. These actions are causing particular distress to EU citizens living here at a time when they are unsure about their future in the UK.
This needs to stop now so EU citizens know that they and their children are welcome in the UK.
