Stop effluent being discharged by Water Companies
How to stop the Water Companies discharging effluent into our seas and rivers whilst making greater profit?

The technology described here would solve this crisis level problem. With a growing population it can only get worse.
The water companies should be heavily fined. The money could then be used directly to implement this technology. It would force the water companies to invest in a permanent solution in the process making them greater profits or the new tech could be nationalised using the fines to pay for it.
This can only come through legislation as the water companies are not willing to bite the bullet off their own bat.
They argue that the discharges are due to heavy rain. This recent drought proves this to be untrue as the discharges continue throughout in the drought areas. If processing the waste creates profit, ultimately, it will make sense for their shareholders

Why is this important?
With ever growing urbanisation the problem of water companies discharging untreated effluent can only get worse. They must be made to invest in new technologies but it has to come at government level. We need to send a clear message to Ofwat.
