STOP HOSPITALS REQUIRING PASSPORTS BEFORE TREATMENT
Please stop London (and all hospitals nationally) from requiring ID in the form of passports or driving licenses before issuing treatment. An NHS number should be more than sufficient!
Why is this important?
Many of our poorest, and the long-term sick will not have these. They have no use for them if they are too sick to travel and are often too poor to afford them thanks to cuts. A close friend of mine, whose chronic ill health stems from an injury she sustained whilst teaching in a state school, has neither the use for or the means to pay for either a passport or a driver's license.
