Stop Knife/Gun Crime on our UK Streets! No more deaths!
Stronger measures must be enforced by the government as a matter of urgency to help stop knife/gun crimes. Deaths especially amongst youngsters are occuring on a near day to day basis across the UK and this must stop.
Many MPs think prison sentances are the answer but it's not, it's far too late by that point. And at any rate are the guilty always caught? Either way it won't help the heartbroken families or friends of the deceased nor those who fear for their lives on the street.
Desperate money needs to be invested at grass roots to help tackle this when a gang related problem but the government has cut funding for this, they literally appear to not care and yet deaths are increasing at an awful, heartbreaking rate.
It is not a simple matter to sort out but it is a matter that requires immediate action, not a nonchalant approach that appears to have been taken. The government must wake up before it totally gets out of control. Engage with charities who deal with these matters and listen to them, invest more money into specialised police units that deal with gang related crimes and adopt a zero tolerance approach - Do what the Mayor of New York did!
The government must remember that Brexit is not the only matter on the agenda! Lives do matter!
Why is this important?
2019 has seen a shocking and heartbreaking amount of deaths of youngsters and adults on UK streets. But literally how many more people of any age/colour must die on the streets before the government takes a serious stance and acts on this urgent matter?
When someone's killed on the street, they are killing not only the family and friends of the deceased but also communities, people's freedom and innocence. Children/teenagers especially should be able to walk the streets and not be in fear of being attacked and yet for many they have to carry a weapon not to kill but to defend. This is not right but it is a reality.
We simply must not simply stand by and do nothing. It could happen to anyone or to anyone's child.
