Stop the English language being privatised

Specsavers have trademarked the use of "should've", meaning that other companies will not be able to use that word in their advertising. Please change the law so that single words cannot be owned by a particular individual or company.

Why is this important?

The English language belongs to everyone, to use or adapt as they please. To allow one company or individual effectively to own a single word, so that others are prevented from using it, is completely contrary to our democratic tradition.
