Stop the RSPCA prosecuting under the DDA/BSL Acts
The RSPCA is a recognised animal charity, NOT a law enforcement agency, and yet they are being allowed to prosecute owners of certain breeds of dogs under the DDA/BSL Acts, which ultimately result in the RSPCA requesting 'Destruction Orders' be placed on these dogs, that they then destroy. The RSPCA has no legal rights or powers whatsoever, and is unregulated and unqualified (an RSPCA inspector is not a recognised qualification), and a non professional organisation receiving 'in house' training only, unlike professions such as law and medicine.
Why is this important?
The RSPCA as an animal charity, should be promoting animal welfare, and assisting/rescuing animals from genuine acts of cruelty and neglect, NOT actively seeking out people to prosecute and their much loved family pets to kill, just because of the way they look, and because of how at present, the RSPCA is allowed to do this. Far to many calls to the RSPCA cruelty line go unattended, leaving animals suffering horrific cruelty and neglect to continue to do just that, whilst the RSPCA concerns themselves more with their 'role play' police officer activities. At a recent court hearing, the defendants barrister even identified that the RSPCA has no authority to instruct police officers to seize these dogs on their behalf, so that they can then prosecute the owners and kill their dogs. Why is our legal system allowing this to happen, when some people previously guilty of murder, have been acquitted for such a technicality. It appears that the Government and our 'flawed' legal system is becoming confused as to the roles and purpose of a animal charity, and the police forces throughout the UK, and the Government needs to take action and consider that 'real' people's lives and those of their animals are being destroyed, by a supposed animal charity, and that to date the RSPCA has been responsible for six people taking their own lives, and yet are still given a completely 'free rein' to continue to play act their police officer roles, whilst remaining completely unregulated or answerable to anyone.
It is appalling that the RSPCA currently releases 'fabricated' statements to the media, falsely proclaiming their opposition to the DDA/BSL acts, and yet whilst hiding behind their 'charity' cloak, continue to instruct police officers to seize 'type'?? dogs, with the ultimate goal of being able to then kill them, once their owners have been found guilty. I have witnessed first hand myself, and have no doubt whatsoever, that the tactics used by the RSPCA and their barristers, could convince a judge that a donkey is a 'banned breed'.
The RSPCA also blatantly lie about the police having 'typed' dogs, and it being the courts having issued the 'destruction orders', but this is easily proven to not be the case, as interested parties only need to look at the court hearings at any given court throughout the UK, and the listings for that particular day, and it will clearly show that it is a RSPCA prosecution, and nothing whatsoever to do with the police. RSPCA veterinary surgeons are the people usually requested to 'type' dogs, but a veterinary surgeon is not automatically a 'breed expert,' unless additional training and the appropriate qualification has been obtained, and that certainly was not apparent in a recent case. From the cases that I have witnessed, it has always been the judge looking to the attending RSPCA inspectors, for guidance as to the sentence to be handed out, and it is therefore entirely the RSPCA's choice to have the dogs destroyed.
What a sorry state of affairs our legal system has now become, whereby judges now appear to require 'charity workers' to advise them as to how to do their job, and to provide their training on animal welfare crimes.
Our legal system now appears to be so corrupt and flawed, and this is the reason for starting my petition, in the hope that the appropriate people will now 'wake up' to what is really being played out in the courts throughout the country, and that appropriate action will be taken, and order restored, so that we can return to a legal system that we can be proud of and have faith in.
