Why is this important?
WECH is a resident led housing association that grew out of a grassroots campaign led by local people against powerful politicians.
Several decades on in 2023 incoming WECH CEO Suzanne Wolfe encouraged staff to form a union group and enthusiastically signed a voluntary recognition agreement.
Just a few months later she announced she was terminating the agreement she had signed so enthusiastically just months earlier without ever having met reps and insisting any further communication had to be held at ACAS.
