Sir Kier Starmer earned his knighthood for his services to human rights. As his government is now looking to strip away the human rights of disabled people by cutting their safety net of benefits and therefore vital support and dignity, he should lose his knighthood.
Why is this important?
Any decent government protects its most vulnerable citizens. Financial support should be ring fenced and protected from cuts. It’s no good trying to redefine disability to force those with limits on the type of work they can do, or the amount of work they are capable of.
Thank you for signing the petition. It’s important to raise awareness of the damage the cuts to disability payments will have. It isn’t only recipients who will be affected, but the people they employ to care for them and the services they use.
