To include basic British Sign Language and Deaf Awareness in all schools within the UK from nursery school upwards.
Why is this important?
To promote the inclusion of all hearing impaired peoples in our society. Hearing impairment is often invisible which can lead to the isolation of hearing impaired children and adults in our society. If sign language and deaf awareness is taught in all schools across the UK, the communication barriers between the hearing and deaf world can be dissolved and an enrichment of society can take place which can only benefit all.
