Test all Care Home Residents and Staff for Covid 19
Testing for all residents and staff must be implemented across Northern Ireland immediately.
Why is this important?
According to the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency 26% of all Covid 19 deaths in Northern Ireland to date are in Care Homes and hospices.
Many people living in residential and nursing homes are considered in the high-risk category. We must take every step we can to protect them. Widespread testing of residents and staff has not been taking place and there have also been significant shortages of personal protective equipment for staff.
