University Hospitals of Leicester need to properly fund the Sleep Service

Protest signs at the Leicester General Hospital (AI)
We are seeing complaint after complaint about unacceptable delays in accessing the Sleep Service at the Leicester General Hospital. Phone calls and emails go unanswered, and waiting times for appointments are far too long. For a service that provides essential medical care, this lack of access is deeply concerning.

We call on University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust to recognise the urgency of this issue and take immediate action to provide the necessary funding and resources. Sign this petition to demand meaningful change and ensure that no one is left waiting for the care or the essential equipment that they need.

Why is this important?

Sleep apnoea is not a minor inconvenience. It can severely affect physical and mental health, increase the risk of road and workplace accidents, and contribute to life-threatening conditions such as cardiovascular disease. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment are critical. Yet persistent underfunding has led to excessive waiting times and limited access to essential equipment, leaving many without the urgent care that they need.
