Use of unqualified staff in schools for teaching purposes.

Oppose all suggestions that unqualified staff are allowed to teach at any time. Take action to ensure that only trained and qualified teachers should be allowed to teach at any time. To quote a statement by Michael Gove in Parliament; "We all know that every child deserves to have every moment in class with a high quality teacher." This is not happening at the moment; in fact many children in primary schools, probably the majority, have about the equivalent of 19 days a year without a qualified teacher in the class to teach them.

Why is this important?

The public are continually being told that education is important but all these statements are undermined by political actions which result in so many children not having access to a qualified teacher at all times.
