Why is this important?
The war between Palestine and Israel has no end in sight. Just over 54,000 Palestinians are dead and around 1700 Israelis. With over 50,000 Palestinian children dead, or injured and 42,000 orphans. The war has turned to Genocide in Gaza. It's time to take action and speak up. The Genocide, including war crimes and famine, cannot be allowed to continue.
What do we mean by Genocide?
Genocide is defined as the intentional and systematic destruction of a group of people based on their national, ethnic, racial, or religious identity. It involves violence and actions aimed at the destruction of a people, targeting their political and social institutions, culture, language, national feelings, religion, and economic existence.
They are bombing schools, paramedic/ambulances and hospitals. Israels troops are barracading shelters where local civilians sleep. Blocking all escape routes and setting the buildings on fire.
A UN-backed assessment has said Gaza's entire population is at "critical risk" of famine.
Israel has blocked aid for weeks at the borders. Now only a trickle of about 10% of need is allowed through by Israel.
Humanitarian Aid is being controlled and distributed by Israels aid foundation. This is against international humantitarian principles. The UN is most commonly used party, and they act as a neutral intermediary. The aid distribution centres have been deliberately set up in the south, to draw people further away from Israel. People abandon their homes in search of food in the southern distribution centres. Israel are claiming Palestinian lands. Israeli's have moved into Palestinian homes and some areas are being demolished. The UN who are independent have refused to work with Israel. The aid being given (decided by Israel) is inappropriate - food that needs cooking but there is no gas, combustible material or water to cook. Portions are too small for one person, let alone a family. No water is provided for cooking or hydration. People are going to humanitarian aid sites dictated by Israel many miles away (while weak and malnourished). They are queing in metal cages and getting shot at by Israelis while waiting. Aid needs to be run by the United Nations.
