Dear Lord
In this the Year of the Horse please take immediate steps to bring in or tighten up legislation to stop neglected horses dying, being fly grazed, left to roam loose, tethered or ill treated. At present despite existing laws to protect them it seems the Authorities are powerless to help them.
Why is this important?
Every day horses are dying and suffering and little is being done to help them. Please step in before the situation becomes irretrievable, this is a crisis of epidemic proportions, 1000s of equines are at risk, it is in your power to act and bring their suffering to an end. Present laws seem inadequate to deal with the situation, we urge you to consider not only enforcing the present laws with all horse owners, but to introduce new laws and safeguards regarding how these animals can be kept.
Horses have been found dead, dying, loose on roads, left to die in flood lands: one was found in a black bin bag left to die, a tethered horse was found hanging off a cliff; the list is endless and action needs to be taken to protect these noble and gentle creatures.
