3 Steps to a Democratic Brexit
1. Working with ‘Vote Leave’, the Prime Minister to draft a credible proposal setting out what their negotiations to leave the EU are intended to achieve, and how. At the very least, the proposal will address the issues of immigration control, access to the single market, and savings in payments due to the EU. The proposal to be accompanied by a Assessment of its impact on the UK economy, undertaken by the Office of Budget Responsibility – and therefore independent of Government and ‘Vote Leave’.
2. A Referendum to be held to establish support for the proposal, with a simple ‘yes/no’ response.
3. If (but only if) the majority vote 'yes', the Prime Minister to submit the Article 50 notice to the EU.

Why is this important?
Submission of the Article 50 Notice will start an irreversible process that will have profound consequences for decades to come.
The electorate must have an opportunity to give their informed consent, so the Prime Minister, Parliament, and the public, can be be confident that this momentous step has the full backing of the British people.
