A new parliament building
The Palace of Westminster renovation 'could take 32 years and cost £5.7bn' if not more. This is a fantastic chance to bring British Politics into the 21st Century. Build a brand new parliament, fit for 21st century democracy elsewhere in the UK. Turn Westminster into a Museum.
The new parliament could have a purpose built 'Olympic village' style accommodation next to it for MP's. We can get rid of Westminster Village syndrome and save on the issue of MP's 2nd homes.
Why is this important?
In the longer run it will be cheaper, allow for more open democracy, less pomp and ceremony and rebalance to country away from its London-centric attitude
