Carers Allowance Unfair Age Cap
Currently anyone who is receiving CA who turns 65, will then no longer be able to receive this benefit. Even if they are still caring for a much younger disabled person full time. This simply isn't fair.
I am 52, disabled and need full time care. My husband turns 65 this year and will lose his CA, despite looking after me 24 hours a day and saving the Government thousands of pounds every year. Tens of thousands over many decades. I still need Caring for, yet my Care will soon become unacknowledged.
It is time the Government recognises that Caring does not finish, simply because you reach another Birthday. Caring never stops for the long term disabled and we need to reward these precious Care givers, not punish them for getting old.

Why is this important?
Carers cannot survive on so little money. They are torn between Caring for a loved one and trying to make ends meet. When they eventually retire they have earnt the right to their full pension, not have it seriously depleted when CA stops. Time to reward Carers and allow them to keep their CA.
