Change presentation of newspaper apologies.
I want them to pass a law to make newspapers print retractions of false stories that are proportional in relation to the original article/feature,
i.e., in the same position, with the same prominence and for the same length of time as the original article.
Why is this important?
Dishonest or poorly researched jounalism creates a distorted perception of events and people which is unhealthy for the society we live in.
A proportionate retraction would go some way to addressing this by making readers more aware of this unfortunate practice.
