Cuts to Ambulance Service

Cuts to Ambulance Service

We want to see more ambulances for the Yate & Chipping Sodbury area.

Why is this important?

Following an accident involving a 20mth old child we required urgent medical assistance. We waited 35 minutes for the ambulance to attend. We were horrified to learn that the service for Yate & Chipping Sodbury had been drastically cut and that the ambulance had to come from central Bristol. The lack of ambulances available is putting the population of Yate & Chipping Sodbury at risk. We want to see adequate ambulances for our area with the appropriate response times. 35 minutes is simply not good enough.

Reasons for signing

  • We need to keep our community safety. These cuts are dangerous
  • Despite what spokespersons from the ambulance service say, Yate has lost 11 front line staff as of April 2017. That equates to x1 24 hour resource and x1 day resource. It's been 6 weeks since we were cut and already the local population are feeling it.
  • I live in Yate and with a large population now in the area there is an increasing need for this emergency service.
