Food Waste Recycling in Swindon

Collect residents food waste along with their usual recycling.

In order to:

1 ) Make fertiliser or soil improver
Or
2) Generate green electricity
And
3) Put less waste into landfill

Why is this important?

When food waste is put into landfill it decomposes anaerobically and therefore produces methane gas. Methane is a green house gas which is contributing to climate change.

As of 2017 44% of councils have started collecting food waste and Swindon needs to catch up.
