Introduce a government licensing scheme for builders
Introduce a Government Licence for all Builders both individuals and Companies so the quality of work can be monitored and inspected.
Why is this important?
There are too many 'cowboy builders' still trading and ripping people off, anyone can call themselves a builder but they have no idea what they are doing. A person's house is one of their most valuable assets they own and at the moment there is no control over builders, so basically it is pot luck as to the quality of work you receive. Joining membership schemes such as Safe Trader Scheme does not necessarily mean that they are competant builders.
