Make Travel Free on All Trains in London for Children under 11

Make travel free on all train ("National Rail") lines in London for children under 11. On all underground and overground trains, buses, trams and many trains in London Children under 11 travel for free. However on most Southern, and the Southeastern and Thameslink services children under 11 have to pay. Go-Ahead and Keolis are the owners of these train operators.

Why is this important?

TFL have made all travel for children under 11 free in London on buses, trams, underground and overground trains. In addition other train service providers, also provide free travel to those under 11. However almost all train lines in South London require children aged 5-10 to pay. Those people with young families who live in South London are the losers in this postcode lottery. The main train lines who still make children under 11 pay are run by Southern, Southeastern and Thameslink. This petition is addressed to David Brown the CEO of the Go-Ahead Group; and Alistair Gordon the UK CEO of Keolis Group; as these companies own Southern, Southeastern and Thameslink. Travel should be made free on all trains within London for under 11's - to create a fair price for train services regardless of location.

Thank you to all of you who have signed the petition. Hopefully with the momentum gathered by the BBC London News Report and the increasing number of signatures on this petition we can hopefully bring about fair and equal access to public transport for all children, regardless of location. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-34064699
Interestingly in the BBC News Reports the Mayors office was quoted as saying that they would like to see travel in London being free on all trains for under 11's; In the written website report the Rail Delivery Group are quoted as saying "Operators would work with the Mayor, the London Assembly and the Department for Transport if a free travel scheme was something they wished to introduce."
As a follow up to this I have e-mailed all South London and Londonwide GLA members to ask them to help get the two sides together to deliver free travel to under 11's.
