Petition for ‘Allocated Overnight Parking’ for Motorhome Tourism to Urban Centres.

Petition that Local Authorities provide designated ‘Allocated Motorhome Parking’ bays, within walking distance of central tourism attractions, with the facility to stay for periods of up to 48 hours

Why is this important?

Motorhome Tourism within the UK is growing year upon year, whilst Town and City centre businesses, along with Local Authorities, struggle to fund their continued financial viability.
The provision of 'Allocated Motorhome Parking', within existing Local Authority controlled urban centre car parks, can help all concerned, at only a negligible initial cost for LA's, which will thereafter once implemented increase tourism revenues to local economies.
The provision of 'Allocated Motorhome Parking' will enable Motorhome tourists to route directly to somewhere that they know they can park, without them having to visit each car park individually in search of somewhere to stay overnight, thereby reducing road congestion and pollution.
Town /City centre car parks are in the main wholly underutilised areas of asphalt come late afternoon every day, at a time when motorhome tourists will be looking to park up for the night. The provision of designated 'Allocated Motorhome Parking' bays, with a commencement time of 1630hrs, will mean that the designated parking bays remain available for normal car parking throughout the busy periods of the day. As such the provision of designated 'Allocated Motorhome Parking' bays will serve to simply increase local authority parking revenues in the most efficient way, and serve the requirements of motorhome tourist users for the ultimate benefit of the local economy.
Everyone benefits, no one loses, and pollution / road congestion is minimised efficiently, so the provision of 'Allocated Motorhome Parking' by Local Authorities is needed now!
