Publish retractions on the same page as misleading articles.

Where press articles are substantially proved to be deliberately misleading and containing inaccurate or made up information, the PCC should force the offending publication to publish retractions and apologies on the same page with the same prominence as the original article.

Why is this important?

During the current referendum campaign, there has been a serious lack of balance in the popular press. Certain papers, notably the Mail, Express and Sun have deliberately mislead a significant proportion of the voting public by printing articles containing what have been proved to be lies, or at best, misrepresentation of the truth.
