Privatisation of Ellesmere Port & Chester Drug & Alcohol Services.
Our National Health Service has for many years provided very successful services to thousands of Cheshire West and Chester Council residents helping them to recover from drug and alcohol addictions.
In November 2014 our local government - Cheshire West and Chester Council decided to award the contract for these services to an organisation called "Turning Point" a registered charity.
There was no public consultation over this decision, and no genuine reason (other than political reasons) for this service to even go out to tender in the first place!
By the end of January 2015 more than 60 dedicated, hard working members of staff - all trained by the NHS, committed to developing and running this service will effectively lose their NHS employment as consequence of this decision.
Ellesmere Port, Neston, Frodsham, Helsby, Chester & Vale Royal residents will all lose a very worthwhile, important NHS lead service, whilst clients are transferred to a private company. So please help us by persuading Councillors to recall the decision to take Ellesmere Port & Chester drug and alcohol services out of the NHS and into the hands of Turning Point.
Why is this important?
Please sign this petition which will be presented to Cheshire West & Chester Council and help prevent ANOTHER act of privatising our NHS.
Please act NOW before it is too late. Thank you!
