Put up a CYCLISTS DISMOUNT sign on the alley between Windsor Rd and Warwick Rd in Cambridge.

Put up a CYCLISTS DISMOUNT sign on each end if the alley way connecting Windsor Rd and Warwick Rd in Cambridge.

Why is this important?

This morning when I was taking my son to school a lady knocked him with her bike seat and made him cry. When I pointed the fact out to her she refused my request to apologise to him and rode off. Having seen this another lady asked me if I was going to report her to which I replied that I probably wouldn't and she said that the same had happened to her child recently. After talking to a few people I now realise how dangerous this alleyway is. Cyclists use it a a short cut and ride at a speed that would make it very hard to prevent a collision which could potentially have serious consequences.. At school times the alley is used by a number of parents and children who constantly try to avoid the dangers but in reality children do not understand and are unpredictable. I feel that it is only a matter of time until an injury occurs and by cyclists dismounting and adding maybe one minute maximum to their journey to work this risk could be eliminated. If they had children themselves surely they would understand this?
