Herts County Council must support the efforts of district councils and voluntary/charity groups in Hertfordshire to welcome at least 50 Syrian refugees, under the government scheme.
The Council must help create a viable plan, identify any extra resources needed and work with the Home Office to provide these resources.
We don't want Britain to be the kind of country that turns its back as people drown in their desperation to flee places like Syria.
The government's Relocation Scheme will give money to local councils to welcome Syrian refugees in their area. We just have to get organised and ask for it.
It has been sent to the Leader of Herts County Council, Robert Gordon.

If we were in their situation, wouldn't we need a home too?
Important to help and support people in desperate situations
In their place I know we would try to do what the Syrians are doing
