Rural Safe School Routes RSSR (Glenavy)

Audit and survey dangerous areas in Glenavy Northern Ireland (a rural area) for pedestrian crossing, zebra crossings and lollipop persons at dangerous hot spots as designated to other surrounding villages. I would like the relevant agencies; LEA, DOE and LISBURN City Council accept this serious responsibility and take accountability should problems arrive. To acknowledge that the village is being use by non residents by using Glenavy as route through to Belfast International Airport, Antrim and Crumlin and much much more, increasingly adding danger to pedestrian safety.

We would also like Z parties to explain why Crumlin is over flowing with these social amenities whilst children, young people and adults are out in serious danger and are at risk every day of their lives using the public transport system funding public transportation and don't even have a rain shelter where needed.

I would like them to open up discussion, carry out surveys and implement road safety in line with standards of the next village over and every other surroundingi. The population continues to grow move taxes and revenue are generated however we are ignored and denied the most basic public safety measures. No parent should send a child to school praying they arrive at the generic stop unharmed.

Why is this important?

This area has become increasingly populated with young families and children. Our children are forced to walk, cross and attempt to make school Transportation in a highly dangerous and om some of the most dangerous pedestrian areas in N.I. There are cars speeding up to 80mph on these roads, and the village doesn't contain one safe passage way for a child. Children are walking and crossing on blind bend's, nonpaved roads and blind spots upro a horrendous 8 times per day with out so much as a pedestrian crossing yet still expected to reach there school transportation in the village Main Street safely. This is particularly unfair for disadvantaged families who have no transportation, are disabled or have disabled children.

I wish to raise awareness around my child making it to school everyday alive and that ofnorhers or a safer alternative put in place.as a temporary measure immediately.

How it will be delivered

Personally, Publishing, Our constitutional represent MLA for the area and main community leaders, to the relevant parties DOE, LEA, LISBURN City Council. Via media and any other means necessary for our cause to be validated.
