Save Duncan Place Resource Centre
We, the users and friends of Duncan Place Resource Centre in Leith, demand that the City of Edinburgh Council halt their decision to demolish Duncan Place Resource Centre (4 Duncan Place, Leith, EH6 8HW) and allow the users group Management Committee time to make proposals and to explore other, less destructive options for the well-attended centre.
We also demand that CEC commit that community provision WILL be maintained at the 4 Duncan Place, Leith, EH6 8HW and that such community provision matches or exceeds what is already available at the current facility.

Why is this important?
Duncan Place Resource Centre has been an active and thriving community centre for over 3 decades. The centre has a large and diverse user group which accommodates all ages, abilities, sexes and ethnicities despite it's lack of capital investment from local authorities. The centre has offered training opportunities to locals since being built in 1915. There are no other centres anywhere else in the capital, and Duncan Place Resource Centre is almost the last community asset in Leith, with many having succumbed to development and regeneration.
