Save the Coasthopper Bus Service

We won!

It's been announced that bus services on the popular Coasthopper route along the North Norfolk Coast will continue to run.

We urge the County Council to work with the other bus companies - Eastern Counties, Lynx Buses, Konnect Bus and Sanders Coaches - to make sure the Coasthopper continues to run with another bus company.

Why is this important?

Coasthopper bus service has operated on the Norfolk coast for twenty one years, giving vital connections to allow people to do their shopping or go out seeing friends. The service operates all year round. It must continue to operate with a new bus company not get scrapped. The coasthopper is needed. We can't lose this wonderful reliable bus service, even if Stagecoach don't realise this service is loved and people want to continue to travel on the service!

Norfolk Green bus company operated the Coasthopper bus service from 1997. It was founded in 1990 by Tony Haynes. He was a gentleman and knew how to run an excellent bus service.

Now after the takeover, stagecoach are proposing to withdraw the Coasthopper bus service completely, as it pulls completely out of Norfolk with the closure of the former Norfolk Green depot in Kings Lynn. This is so sad as Norfolk Green was the best bus company ever. They cared about their customers and gave the best service. So now Tony Haynes' legecy is being destroyed by Stagecoach!

I want to share this memory it was a Thursday it had been snowing but went to Sheringham with Tom who was a driver on the Coast Hopper and when we got to Sheringham, Tom said I want a bowl of soup from ROY BOYS CAFE so we walked down there talking to Roy enjoying our Tomato soup it was lovely and warm in the cold snowy weather! We have to save this service for the future and if Stagecoach wanna war they simply cant win it they are too useless for that!

I want to pay tribute to bus driver Tom who used to drive the bus on the Coasthopper Service for Norfolk Green as he was a wonderful man so kind and he loved his Liquoice Allsorts hed buy a huge bag of them from the discount shop in Sheringham now defunct and eat them on the bus what a treat for Tom I have my memories of this that's why im fighting to keep this as we need the Coasthopper saved!!!!

I wanna pay tribute to Ben Colson former Managing Director of Norfolk Green as he ran the company well in its later years as Ben listened to customers and took on ideas for new services as he often was a driver on the Coathopper bus service. Well its gone we cant bring it back Norfolk Green is no more due to this Pathetic Shambles known as Stagecoach, We work together too with Eastern Counties to reinstate the Coastliner bus service that will in fact operate with the Coasthopper service and expand this service from Cromer to Lowestoft that's how you get this mess sorted out created by Stagecoach you do it the TONY HAYNES WAY!!!!

NORFOLK GREEN wanted to operate other sevices in Nofolk they ran the X98 to Kings Lynn after EASTERN COUNTIES contract to run this service was terminated and this ran very well! Now tragicly we will bever ever know what NORFOLK GREEN would have done expanding its services kicking SANDERS out they are gone but we got wonderful memories!

I spoke to Lynx Buses they say they are interested in taking on the Coasthopper as they could carry on from where Norfolk Green left off! Why the hell did Stagecoach take over Norfolk Green if it was their sole aim to destroy the company! Stagecoach are an ignorant bunch of tossers and their bus services are crap worser than Sanders and they are useless so lets get Lynx Buses and Eastern Counties running the Coasthopper!!

We have lost something this is painful it makes you cry as traveling on the Coasthopper you met drivers like Tony, Tom and Bob they became your friends it was abit like a Real Life On The Buses but without Blakey and im going to miss Norfolk Green we all loved travelling on the buses but that's gone so CHEERS TONY thanks for creating Norfolk Green!

Stagecoach continue to make pathetic excuses over their reasons for closing the Former Norfolk Green Depot in Kings Lynn and scraping the Coasthopper as they are extremely Rude and don't care one bit they are useless we must get this service saved!!
