School Transport To Ysgol Nantgwyn

We the undersigned are petitioning RCT CBC to provide transport for the children from: Penygraig Infants, Penygraig Juniors and Ysgol yr Eos. The children will be moved to Ysgol Nantgwyn in the school year Spetember 2018. We feel that not only should transport be provided on the basis that it would be an unfair distance for pupils to travel (especially the Infants aged children 3-7). Also that the “safe route” suggested by RCT is in fact anything but safe. We have major safety concerns that have not been addressed or considered by RCT Cabinet when they approved the closure of the above schools. We feel the safety of the children should have been paramount when making these decisions and the introduction of school transport would mitigate these issues.
