  • An Open Letter to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom From UK Medical Professionals
Subject: Appeal for Urgent Humanitarian Passage for Injured Children from Gaza Dear Prime Minister, We, the undersigned healthcare professionals across the United Kingdom—doctors, nurses, surgeons, paramedics, and allied medical workers—write to you with urgency and moral conviction. We are appealing for the immediate creation of a safe and coordinated humanitarian corridor for the evacuation and treatment of injured children from Gaza, in a manner similar to the programme implemented for children from Ukraine in 2022. This is a matter of life and death—and of our collective conscience. A Crisis Without Precedent Since October 2023, Gaza has witnessed a catastrophic loss of life, particularly among children. According to verified figures: • Over 14,500 children have been killed, often buried beneath the rubble of their homes or schools. • More than 23,000 children have been injured, many suffering devastating trauma including amputations, burns, shrapnel wounds, and spinal injuries. • Thousands now face lifelong disability without access to the surgeries, prosthetics, or rehabilitation they desperately need. This is the deadliest conflict for children in recent history. The destruction of Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure—where only a handful of hospitals remain partially functioning—means thousands of young lives hang in the balance with little to no medical support available. The UK Has Led Before. It Can Lead Again. In 2022, the UK responded with compassion and humanity by providing sanctuary and treatment for injured Ukrainian children. Over 100 Ukrainian pediatric patients were flown to the UK for advanced medical care through a coordinated effort with the NHS and international agencies. That programme saved lives. It reflected our values. It showed the world what Britain stands for. We now ask you to extend the same mercy to the children of Gaza. The World Is Watching—And Acting Other nations have already begun to step forward: • France has received and treated severely injured children from Gaza in Parisian hospitals.  • Italy has opened its medical facilities to young patients in need of urgent surgery and long-term care.  • Jordan continues to treat children evacuated from Gaza, despite limited capacity.  • Egypt has facilitated temporary transfers of the wounded, particularly for oncology and trauma cases.   It is time for the United Kingdom to join this humanitarian coalition. Our Call to Action We are calling on the UK Government to:  • Establish an emergency medical evacuation corridor for injured Gazan children, in coordination with international and regional partners.  • Prioritise the transfer of the most critically wounded children to NHS hospitals equipped to provide specialist care.  • Ensure the accompaniment of a parent or legal guardian for every child evacuated, or in cases where an injured child is orphaned, allow the accompaniment of a trusted sponsor.  • Mobilise UK healthcare institutions and volunteer networks ready to assist in this life-saving mission.   We, as UK medical professionals, stand ready to help—clinically, logistically, and morally. Dozens of paediatric trauma specialists, orthopaedic surgeons, burns consultants, and physiotherapists have already expressed their willingness to offer care.

  • POOR ROAD QUALITY = Car Damage, Decrease In Transport For Goods, Reduced Quality Of Living
I'm calling on the UK Government to improve England's roads. Last year 4,894 miles of roads were resurfaced to make them safer. That is just 3% of England's 183,054 miles of roads. 3%! The safer the roads the more transport - a boost in economic growth and improved quality of life.

  • To make plymouth amazon drivers start to work earlier
Amazon Courier (DSP) delivery drivers also deserve to have a social and family life. We need to go home early to see our family, have dinner and have more contact with them and friends. For this to be possible, we need to start leaving the depot at 8:30 am to start deliveries from 9 am. Because with the current shift, many drivers get home after 9 pm, some even at 10 pm, and they end up sleeping late without being able to talk or even see their family. We need to have the dignity of having this met by Amazon as soon as possible!

  • Change the NPCC Guidance on Pregnancy Loss Investigations
The change in NPCC guidance on the investigation of unexpected pregnancy losses under the framework of “child death investigations” authorises and encourages  intrusive policing practices at a time when women and birthing people are at their most vulnerable and grieving. The guidance includes the seizure of their digital devices, review of fertility app data, and accessing of confidential medical records — without judicial authorisation.

  • Reduce corporation tax and NI contributions for small businesses.
The government need to take into account the tax burden on small businesses and how this impacts the economy. They then need to reduce that burden in terms of corporation tax levels and the amount of National Insurance contributions payable by an employer.

  • No Atlantic Bluefin Tuna Fishing in Channel Island waters
Bluefin tuna were previously facing extinction, under current laws, fishing the species is prohibited due to dwindling stock.  But in recent years they have returned to Channel Island waters, many sightings of which have been enjoyed by wildlife enthusiasts. Just as this species appears to be recovering, Jersey's environment minister Deputy Steve Luce and Guernsey's economic development president Deputy Neil Inder are seeking to boost the fisheries industry by allowing charter fishing. The species are currently protected under the Wildlife (Jersey) Law, and Guernsey law, which prohibits targeting and landing Atlantic bluefin tuna within local waters.

  • Save The Bath House
We ask that the Mayor of Hackney and the Mayor of London urgently intervene in Hackney Council’s decision to terminate The Bath House’s lease and remove the very team that transformed it from a derelict, disused shell into a thriving, self-sustaining hub for culture, wellbeing, and community. This space now serves thousands weekly through grassroots-led initiatives that generate not just public benefit, but deep social wealth. To displace its creators without due process would undermine years of civic effort, public trust, and the borough’s own commitments to inclusive, community-led regeneration and one that serves as a beacon of community empowerment in action.
